Alluvial Farms has thirty pigs on the ground, and another twenty due to arrive end of May. First harvest is scheduled for late June and deliveries will take place July - December. Pigs on pasture have moved three times and we hope that by next weekend that ground will be prepped and sown to barley.
Pigs were moved into a forest paddock where they will spend the next few weeks while we wait for our next pasture rotation area to dry out. Forests thrive with managed disturbance, and their understory is a natural environment for pigs.
On another note, we have found that jumpsuits keep pig farmers happy.
