On Monday we brought 21 lil' oinkers to the farm!  They're from 2 litters, one of which is 9 weeks and the other is 10 weeks.  They are both Tamworth Berkshire crosses.

Tamworths are a heritage breed of English and Irish.  Ginger in color, with longer snouts and perky ears, they are excellent foragers and thrive in pasture situations.  Originally thought of as a "bacon hog", they produce lean, fine-grained meat.

They'll be with us at the homestead for the next couple weeks while they're learning the electric fence and putting on some pounds.  And then off to greener pastures and forests at Circle F.
