Last year, we upgraded our tractor and disc, which has significantly enhanced our farming capacity, especially behind our pigs. Did you know it can take up to one year for us to rehabilitate a one-acre rotational pig paddock after the animals have been pastured there?

Check out the photo above of paddock one regrowing in spring sown barley and after last year's pumpkin patch. It's amazing to see the transformation! This was one of our last paddocks to close to pig use last fall as they cleaned up the pumpkins after you all were done picking.

Meet Taco, one of our eleven mama pigs, who's just about due to spring farrow. She took a moment to say hi to me when I interrupted her working on her excavation project.

Behind her you can see we've opened a few of our rockiest paddocks for winter turnouts to ensure our animals always have access to fresh air and soil. They can move in and out from their nests in the barn through open alleyways that we make with electric polywire. We add piles of wood shavings that you can see in the background, which we get for free from a local calf grower, to create mounds for pigs to lounge on and give them something else to root around in when forage is sparse.

In non-pig related news, we are super excited to welcome those of you who just joined the Alluvial Pets Club during our first opening for our pet treats subscription. For those who are interested in joining the Alluvial Pets Club but missed out this time, don't worry! Stay tuned for updates on our next pet treats subscription opening. We'll make sure to keep you informed so you can secure your spot and treat your pets to something special.

We're excited about the progress on the farm and grateful for your continued support as we strive to provide the best possible care for our animals and deliver high-quality products to your doorstep.
