About Alluvial Farms

Alluvial Farms was founded in 2015 with a passion for sustainable agriculture and community connection. The foundation of the farm business is a trusted source of pasture-raised pork and value-added products for Puget Sound families who value regenerative practices and knowing the farmers behind their food.

After a decade of building farming systems and community relationships, Alluvial continues to prioritize ethically raised pork products and implementing land stewardship practices that aim to balance ecological and production systems.  Alluvial enjoys connecting with the community through a variety of on-farm experiences.

Alluvial is operated by a team of passionate land and animal stewards. Owner/operator Matt McDermott has been working in sustainable agriculture for 20+ years and continues to seek and share knowledge with staff and community. We look forward to nourishing you and yours!

Our Mission

Through regenerative systems, Alluvial Farms produces ethically raised, high quality pork products for the local Puget Sound Community.  These systems provide a better quality of life for the animals, a better tasting product for the eater, and land stewardship practices that ensure sustainability.

Alluvial Farms produces high quality, nourishing and hydrating, skin care products from pastured animal fats. The resulting lard, mixed with beeswax and essential oils, is a simple, time honored salve for skin care.

Produce high quality pet treat products from ethically raised livestock that supports sustainability. Our organ-based pet treats offer an excellent source of nutrients for your pet to thrive.

Offering seasonal opportunities to tour the farm, engage with animals, purchase seasonal goods and discover exactly where your food comes from.

  • “It was such a pleasure to see your farm last year - not only was I impressed by how you’re raising your pigs, but also by your resourceful use of things like Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (for stream restoration) and USDA EQIP funds (for compost facility construction and other barnyard enhancements).”

  • “We are extremely happy with our purchase and will be ordering again in the future. Our kids loved seeing the pigs (and piglets) when we came out to the pumpkin patch. I hope the pumpkins will be a yearly thing. That was also a great value and experience. ”

  • “We love Alluvial Farms. Over the past two years, we have purchased from them on multiple occasions and have experienced superior quality throughout the entire process. It is good to know the farmers who raise the food that you eat. And it’s even better to know farmers who care so deeply for their work, land, and animals. To sum it up: support your local farmers, especially these local farmers.”
